Unleash the Dogs of War

By most estimates, the Israeli military is giving Hezbollah a thorough a** kicking right now, and is in a position to literately stamp out that terrorist group in a matter of weeks, but not so fast. You see, some around the world, and the Bush administration included, are telling Israel to show some restraint. Just as Israel gets into a position to deliver the final nail in the coffin, they are being told, not asked, by the world community to restrain themselves, and although this is nothing new and unexpected coming from such whimpy countries like France and the UN, its also coming from the one country who claims to be in Israels corner, and should most definitely NOT tell them to restrain themselves, the U.S.

What gall and unmitigated audacity we have to tell the world that WE will use any means to protect ourselvesand our safety and security and business interests around the world, and then tell go and tell Israel they should NOT do the same thing. Israel has for decades lived in a region completely surrounded by nations and cockroach terrorist groups who have longed for their demise, and yet have managed to flourish and survive while living in the belly of the beast. Every time Hezbollah or the PLO attacked Israel, they have responded, and every time they respond, someone tells them to restrain themselves or give into their demands. Every time, Israel has done just that, conceding land to the Palestinians, and giving more ground. Just last year the Israelis finally relented, and pulled out the settlements from the Gaza Strip, a place that Israel won in a previous battle, and for their efforts and good gesture to the Palestinians, they got shelled by a barrage of rockets. Again, no good deed goes unpunished. Essentially, when they pulled out, Hamas moved close to the Israel border, so their rockets were capable of traveling further into Israel.

Frankly, Israel appears to be tired of the same old bullshit tactics used by Hamas, Iranian backed Hezbollah, Syria, and anyone else who has been constantly messing with them for decades, and seem to be finally ready to recognize that it is time to squash the crud out of all of these groups, in order to preserve their very existence. And for that, we, along with many other countries, are trying to tell Israel to do what they have done before numerous times, restrain themselves, come to the bargaining table, and relent to their demands. Instead, what the U.S. and George Bush SHOULD be doing is giving full unbridled support to Israel, and maybe if need be, help out. Restraint is not the order of the day, but a full on assault on Hezbollah is what is really needed. For Israel, it is time for them to unleash the dogs of war and not just quell this fighting, but also destroy from the very face of the planet, their enemies. Alas, this time it may not be politics as usual by Israel, and perhaps they have finally had enough. Israel should tell everyone else who is not behind the efforts to stamp out Hezbollah, to back off and shut up, and that includes the U.S. The survival of the Israeli people as a race and a culture are very much at stake, and if they wish to stay alive, thrive and flourish as a nation, then it is their duty and right to finish a long over due job, and by all means, more power to them.

Lest anyone forget this little tidbit, that Israel is a sovereign nation with nuclear weapons in its bag of defense weapons. That means, that Hezbollah controlled Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, Palestinian freedom fighters, Hamas, and any other parasite groups in that region exist ONLY at the benevolence of Israel. It should not be over looked that Israel has been far too lenient to these extremists over the decades. You can bet on this too, that if Israel had lost any of the wars with these groups over the last 60 years, and Hezbollah had nuclear capabilities, it would be Israel that would have ceased to exist as a nation, and not the other way around. Its all a testament to the resilience of the Israeli people. They put up with so much hate and destruction all around them, and yet they manage to survive. But they can possibly go on like this forever? At some point, and maybe that day has now officially arrived, they decide to through down the gauntlet, and lay waste to the scourge that seeks their demise, and end this war that has been raging against them for 60 years. Or maybe it will be back to old tried and failed ways of letting your enemy off the mat, and letting them regroup with an invigorated spirit and even more resolve to push the Jews back into the sea. We all shall see soon enough.
